In my previous post, I talked about my last trip before COVID hit.
In that post, I shared that once the pandemic began and the world slowed down, I stopped editing my pictures on Instagram and started using a more advanced photo editing software.
Which one?
Affinity Photo.
Usually, they offer a week-long free trial, but because they wanted to support artists during that uncertain time, they extended it to 90 days!
And guess how many edits I made during that time?
One.
This is the one:
There were sooo many buttons I didn’t recognize, so I just messed around with what I understood: brightness, contrast, and color. Especially the color purple (throwback to my previous post).
This photo has a special place in my heart because it’s the starting point where my editing skills really took off.
Appreciating goodwill
I bought Affinity Photo after the trial ended, and I really appreciate that I didn’t have to pay an arm and a leg to do what I enjoy.
It just goes to show that there are companies out there who genuinely care about artists, and by making their tools accessible, they give people from all skill levels and income brackets the chance to grow their craft.
And to those companies, I give you my warmest thank you.
And you, the reader…
If you’re thinking of buying something, do your research. Don’t just jump on the most popular product without exploring your options!
Sometimes, a high price tag really does mean high quality. But other times, it means the company is banking on customers being too lazy to look elsewhere.
So please, just take a few minutes to look. Your wallet will thank you.
